Bremerton police are still investigating a reported burglary and stabbing Wednesday, according to the police department.

Officers and medics were called to Bremerton Gardens Apartments on the 2000 block of Parkside Drive at about 7:10 p.m.

Officers found the 21-year-old victim in her kitchen with a one-inch-wide knife wound in her chest. She said a black male forced his way into her apartment and took about $60 from her purse before stabbing her and leaving. The woman was treated for her injury at Harrison Medical Center.

The suspect was described as a black male with a thin build, about 30 years old, 6 feet 5 inches tall, according to early reports.

He was said to be wearing sweatpants and a black jacket.

A neighbor told police he did not hear anything or see anyone leave the area at the time of the reported incident. There are no suspects or witnesses.
