The casino at Bremerton Lanes closed Saturday due to a lack of customers, an employee said Monday.

"The economy's pretty much killing us," said bowling alley employee Connor Borchers, adding that not enough people came in to justify keeping the casino open.

Bremerton Lanes' bowling area, restaurant and bar will remain open, Borchers said.

The casino was added to the bowling alley in 2001. A dozen lanes were removed to make room for the gambling area, which featured three full-sized poker tables and three blackjack tables, according to the bowling alley's website.
