Everything Bremerton: Respect the Bremberry

A community or city is often defined by the annual events and the festivals it puts on. These are unique opportunities for community pride, expertise, area specialties, quirkiness and individuality to shine on full display for the rest of the world to see and enjoy.

How many times have out of town travel plans been built around or incorporated a local festival, event or fair for the area you are headed for? How many of those events have thrown the door wide open and allowed us to really get to know the sometimes hidden wonders of the community in which we are visiting?

Putting on these festivals is a labor of love for many of the volunteers and behind the scenes participants. Community leaders, local organizers, business owners and residents spend countless hours of their personal time working to make everything come together for three short days for the simple pleasure of serving and showcasing their beloved community. They deserve a very big thank you from the entire community.

This weekend is Bremerton’s 22nd Annual Blackberry Festival – the yearly festival that defines Bremerton’s public events.  The festival caps the summer with a celebration of all things blackberry. Mixed with events, music, vendor booths and activities all combine to offer a little bit of something for everyone. Young, old, big or small there is something for you to hear, do, see or eat.

This is the best of Bremerton, laid out buffet style along the waterfront boardwalk and downtown core with additional events held out at the Bremerton airport.

If you are a resident of Bremerton, this event is for you. Maybe it’s time to get to know your community again. Re-explore what makes us special?  What make us tick? What make us weird?

Respect the berry! Take this annual event opportunity and use it to support local artists and vendors. Thank them for their participation. Bask in what makes Bremerton, Bremerton.
