Harrison, leading the way by example

Harrison Medical takes care of Bremerton.  It takes care of the citizens of Bremerton through the sheer volume of medical services made available to the entire community.

Services that assist with the physical and mental, the young and the old, the rich and the poor.

This week Harrison Medical Center announced it would remodel an existing building on Wheaton Way and will soon consolidate many of their support services that are currently scattered across locations in Bremerton and Silverdale, such as administration services, human resources, marketing and financial services.

True to their nature the decision makers at Harrison have gone straight to the source of one of the hardest hit physically downtrodden areas of Bremerton in a valiant and substantive attempt to become a part of the solution to what economically ails this community.

I thank Harrison for leading by example. For being a part of the healing economic process.

There are businesses big and small all over Bremerton that are doing the same sort of thing in the small ways available to them.  For example and well know and established local business owner opens a new lounge downtown and reclaims a space that had been vacant for quite some time. Another business owner in the Charleston area paints and improves his storefront and helps organize other local business and property owners to join together, rise up and become visibly active in the collective decisions that will affect their entire district.

Caring and healing for the community comes from within the community. I am very proud of Bremerton and of those who choose to invest here. Support our local business leaders and thank them.

Their efforts truly do help us all.
