No honor among Republicans in D.C.

I was shocked to read the letter from Norma Card (“Are there any honorable Dems?”) which the Reporter published in its Dec. 4 edition. Why is such rubbish allowed to waste ink?

First, regarding Obama’s “plan to put us in debt up to our eyeballs.” Bush inherited $5.7 trillion in debt and departed at $10.6 trillion, handing Obama a broken economy, the bank bailout, and stimulus plans. George significantly contributed to that debt not finding those weapons of mass destruction while letting Bin Laden get away.

Second, there should not be anyone to try from Gitmo. If George, Dick and Rummy had done the job properly, the Taliban and Al-Qaeda would have been a footnote in historical texts on Islam. They would have sent proper troops into Tora Bora and exterminated the lot of them. Temporary end of problem.

Obama is now dealing with the mess; George ignored it, mired in the problem finding those weapons in Iraq. I am sure that the issue of innocent people in Gitmo is of no import. After all, they would simply be collateral damage.

Third, “economically depressed” is a fact for much of our nation. Just read the labels on the things you buy. Nothing says “Made in America.” Remember, you must have a job to even buy things “Made in China.”

Our honorable statesfolks and our business leaders have sold us down the river for the bottom line long ago.

Fourth. “Friendly with this type of person”? “Radicals”? George can be seen sucking up to the Saudi’s all over Google photos if you search. Most of the 9/11 folks were Saudi’s and one of the biggest sources of funding for the Iraqi insurgency is the Saudi people. George is seen kissing and holding hands with their boss. Explain that action by America’s former conservative leader.

Why was George never an honorable statesman who publicly told the Saudi monarch to his face that his monarchy and his religious branch caused the death of so many Americans? Norma, there are NO honorable statespersons in the nation’s capitol, but Republicans are the least honorable for now.
