Those who led us to the brink are back in power

Misled by corporate propaganda packaged as “libertarian” ideology, voters have given the U.S. House of Representatives back to the same people who wrecked our economy so they can finish the job.

Now they want to “solve” our deficit problem by extending tax cuts for those who make more than a million dollars, while cutting Social Security and Medicare. Multimillionaires don’t need the tax cuts, but Social Security and Medicare keep tens of millions of seniors out of poverty.

Of course this assault on our safety net makes perfect sense to the very rich. The sad irony is that voters have been duped into returning power to people who have a history of protecting Wall Street at the expense of the American people.

Thanks to the voters

I want to thank the voters of Kitsap County for expressing their confidence in me by giving me another term as their commissioner on the Board of the Public Utility District.

I assure the public that the goals and objectives that I discussed and published are, and will, govern how I vote during my fourth term of service to them.
