Rock the Cure
Guild thanks
supporters
Thanks for another great year at Rock the Cure 2006 Music Festival and Jam! Our May 20 event at the Presidents Hall at the Fairgrounds raised over $4,000 for pediatric brain tumor research at Childrens Hospitals. This year, we are grateful we were included in the Armed Forces Day festivities (Cris, you rock!) and want to say a big thanks to our volunteers and sponsors.
Without these folks, we could not be the success we are: PepsiCo; The Manette Saloon; Minders Meats; Anna Dains at Westsound Bank; Jim and Melody Toroni and Windermere Silverdale; Sandfords Carpet Cleaning; Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce; Gryphon Graphics; Max Pro Audio; Tease (!!!), Metropolis, the Gallery; Crazy Erics; Specialty Teas and Pots; ABC Talent Management Miss Washington USA; Kitsap Music and Jennings Distributors and many more wonderful groups and individuals.
Our bands were amazing! Mercurius, Tape Machine, Hatchet Wounds (just signed to Vans Warped Tour!), Valley of the Dinosaurs, Ruxton Towners, Lost Shaker Assualt and the everlovin Bill Brown and the Kingbees. Miriam is watching over you all and smiling! Thanks all and well see you next year!

Da Vinci Code
Book misinforms on Bible, church history
It is unbelievable that one book and movie filled with misinformation as the Da Vinci Code could cause so many to doubt the Bible and church history.
Magnificent cathedrals, schools and hospitals have been built and inspiring classical music written in honor of Christianity.
The birth of Christ as God incarnate was foretold 1,200 years before there was a Constantine.
At his birth, wisemen led by a star came to worship him as Deity bringing costly gifts.
It is true Mary Magdalene along with millions of believers is the Bride of Christ -- Jesus Christ, the Son of God who was and is and is to come.

Armed Forces Day
Great food and great fun
On behalf of the sailors and families of Navy Region Northwest, please accept my personal thanks for such an outstanding Armed Forces Day celebration. The days events were a huge amount of fun and offered such a variety of activities; the great food was particularly noteworthy. Again, many thanks to the chamber and member organizations, not only for making Bremertons Armed Forces Day celebrations a success, but also for your continued support of the U.S. Navy.

Soapbox Derby
Its all family fun
Our family raced in its first Soap Box Derby rally (May 20-21) at Bremertons Armed Forces Day and we had a great time! Our 9-year-old daughter even brought home a third-place trophy in addition to the Sportsmanship Award. It is such a family sport with everyone getting involved. I truly hope word gets out to our area that we have cars available and are in need of drivers and fun can be had by all. Well see you at the Silverdale Championship next Sunday!
