Knights claim first 08 win
Port Angeles shut down the Bremerton baseball team, defeating the Knights 10-0 Monday. Bremerton mustered only two hits while committing four errors and PA pitcher Jake Madison received plenty of run support en route to the victory.
But the Knights came back with vengeance against Kingston Wednesday, rallying for a 13-8 come-from-behind victory. BHS scored 11 runs over the final thee innings. The Knights exploded in the top half of the seventh, pushing seven runs across the plate to overcome an 8-5 deficit. Kingston led 8-2 after four innings, but Bremerton scratched and clawed, earning the always-elusive first win of the season.
BHS hosted Port Townsend yesterday, but results were not available at press time. The Knights travel to North Mason for a 4 p.m. game Tuesday.
Lady Luck hasnt been there for the BHS fastpitch team, at least so far. After early-season games against Shelton, Vashon and North Kitsap were cancelled for various reasons, the BHS fastpitch team finally had an opportunity to show their mettle in a Tuesday afternoon game against Port Angeles. But PA scored 12 runs in the second inning, sparking a huge offensive outburst, and cruised to an 18-0 victory. The Knights struggled to put the bat on the ball, ending the game without a hit.
The Knights hosted Port Townsend yesterday, but results were unavailable at press time. BHS will look to right the ship on the road against North Mason, hitting it off at 4 p.m. Monday.
