BHS kicks off fall season Friday
July 4, 2008 · Updated 12:36 PM
The Bremerton Knights are hoping 2007 will kick off much like 2006 did: with a win.
After beating the Klahowya Eagles (1-9 in 2006) in last years season opener, the Knights are hoping repeat the 21-14 win Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Silverdale Stadium.
What the Knights are not hoping for however is a repeat of what happened after the victory, which at the time snapped a losing streak of 20 games dating back to 2003.
Following coach Nate Gilliams first win at the helm, the Knights dropped nine straight to finish last season at 1-9 in the first year of the resurrected Olympic League.
Currently Bremerton is away at a week-long camp in Randle. Check the Sept. 1 issue of the Bremerton Patriot for a full season preview and see the Sept. 5 of the Central Kitsap Reporter for coverage of the teams opener with the Eagles.
