Wins still hard to come by for Knights
Noah Greenwald tallied just the third goal of the season for the Knights in the 48th minute at North Mason Monday, tying the game, but a late goal from the Bulldogs propelled them into the lead for good in a 2-1 win against Bremerton. The Knights hosted Shelton, against whom they earned their lone point in the league standings this season in a tie game, Thursday night at Memorial Stadium after the Patriot went to press. Bremerton is 0-5-1 this season.
Eli Olson went 3-for-4 with a double at the plate but the Knights committed six errors as the Gig Harbor Tides swamped Bremerton 18-4 Tuesday at Legion Field. The Tides rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits against Bremerton Wednesday in the Harbor for a 13-2 victory that dropped the Knights to 0-9.
The softball gods (or at least a 10-run mercy rule) spared the young Knights against powerful Gig Harbor in a 12-0 loss after five innings Wednesday. An erroneous report in the April 1 issue of the Patriot indicated Bremerton defeated North Kitsap earlier this season. The Knights are 0-6.
