After falling behind 2-0 in a best-of-seven first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics, Marvin Williams and his Atlanta Hawks teammates scratched and clawed, flying to two consecutive home victories to even the series 2-2.
While Boston answered in Game 5, winning 110-85 for a 3-2 series lead, the Hawks headed back to Atlanta for Game 6 with a chance to even the series.
Williams chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds in Game 3, helping Atlanta to a 102-92 victory, and added eight points and two rebounds in a 97-92 Game 4 win.
Averaging 11 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, Williams has shot 89.3 percent from the free-throw line on 25-of-28 shooting.
Yesterdays Game 6 results were not available at press time. Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for tomorrow at a to-be-determined time. For up-to-date playoff information, visit www.nba.com.
