Brown advances to XC districts

Bremerton’s Josh Brown took fourth place on the boys side during the Bridge Classic cross country meet on Oct. 14 at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.

Gig Harbor’s Tommy Betterbed took the individual title as the Tides dominated the competition.

On the girls’ side, Bremerton’s Bridget Anderson and Allicia Maddox finished in 18th and 19th place. Anderson finished the course in 21 minutes, 56 seconds and 22 minutes, 15 seconds respectively. Gig Harbors Stephanie Sipes set a new course record with her time of 18 minutes, 21 seconds.

Brown was also the only Bremerton runner to advance to districts in the Narrows League cross country meet Wednesday at Fort Steilacoom Park.

Brown placed 25th as the top 40 runners advanced to district.

On the girls’ side Bridgette Anderson led all Bremerton runners placing 46th, falling just shy of the cut.
