The Bremerton girls soccer team was the latest victim of undefeated North Mason, dropping a hard-fought 2-0 game this past Tuesday. The Lady Knights are the only team to blemish North Mason’s record, however, having played the Bulldogs to a 1-1 tie in the season-opening game Sept. 9. In that game, BHS’ Angelique White scored the game-tying goal in the 79th-minute to even the score. North Mason has since won nine consecutive games. BHS (3-8-1 overall, 3-5-0 league) hosted Port Angeles Thursday, but results from that game were unavailable at press time. With less than three weeks remaining in the regular season, Bremerton finishes against Olympic (Oct. 21), Klahowya (Oct. 23) and North Kitsap (Oct. 28).

North Mason swept the BHS spikers 3-0 on Tuesday, sending the Lady Knights (2-8, 2-6) to a third consecutive loss. The losing streak includes an Oct. 9 loss against Kingston in which BHS blew a 2-1 lead, with Kingston storming back to take the fourth set 27-25 and the fifth set 15-13. BHS hosted Port Angeles on Thursday, but results from that game, too, were unavailable at press time. The team finishes regular season action against Olympic (Oct. 21), Klahowya (Oct. 23) and North Kitsap (Oct. 28).

The Olympic League boys tennis tournament began yesterday at Port Angeles. Look for complete resuts from yesterday’s action as well as the rest of the tournament in the Oct. 25 edition.
