Knights winless on the diamond

The Bremerton baseball team is still searching for its first win.

The Knights (0-6) were nearly no-hit in a 7-2 loss against North Mason Tuesday, but Shane Mundy hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to put BHS on the board.

With two runs in the second, one in the third and four in the fifth, North Mason pitcher Randy Button, who struck out six and walked one, had more than enough run support.

The Knights look for their first win, hosting Shelton at 4 p.m. today.

The team also hosts North Kitsap at 4 p.m. Monday.

Track and Field

The Bremerton track and field team had its first league meet yesterday, facing North Kitsap and Port Angeles, Results were unavailable at press time.

The Knights host Kingston and Klahowya at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Girls tennis

The Lady Knights tennis team, led by first-year coach Casey Lindberg, who also is the Bremerton boys basketball coach, hosted North Kitsap Wednesday, the team’s first home league match. Results were unavailable at press time.

BHS is at Klahowya at 4 p.m. today and hosts Port Townsend at 4 p.m. Monday.
