Valencia takes over BHS girls basketball
South Kitsap graduate Al Valencia, 61, is the new Bremerton girls basketball coach. Valencia replaces Daniel McInnis, one of three former BHS coaches who was axed over the summer following a decision by the Bremerton School District to cut all full-time classified employees from head coaching positions.
Valencia was an assistant coach with the Olympic High School girls basketball team last year and assisted at Central Kitsap High School from 2002-04.

Applications, which are available online at http://www.mwr.navy.mil/mwrprgms/fitness/sportsApplication.doc, are due Oct. 1. For additional information, contact coach Don Sheehan at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or Pat Wallace at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The eighth annual Army-Navy rugby game is Nov. 21 and Kitsap will play host. KRFU is developing a Navy team specifically for this event and practices from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the upper softball fields on Naval Base Kitsap.
For additional information, visit www.kitsaprugby.org or contact Chief William Filipsic at email@example.com.
