Bremerton High School sophomore Bre Casias is headed to state.

The left-hander secured a berth to the Class 3A state girls tennis tournament with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Chloe Miller of Kennedy High School at Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma on Friday.

Casias will compete twice Saturday in matches for seeding purposes. The best seed she could earn is a No. 4, while the lowest is a No. 8.

The state tournament begins May 28 at the Vancouver Tennis Complx.

Casias was Bremerton’s lone player to advance to the playoffs, despite the fact the team finished with a 7-3 regular-season record.

She was 10-1 overall and perfect against 3A opponents, losing only to Maggie Becker of 2A Klahowya Secondary School.
