Kitsap BlueJackets begin 2010 season on high note
June 11, 2010 · 11:39 AM
The Kitsap BlueJackets started the 2010 season with a bang, winning three of their first four games before losing their fifth.
Coach Matt Acker’s team defeated the Corvallis Knights twice in three tries in the first home series of the season and continued the momentum with an 8-1 victory Tuesday over the Bend Elks at Gene Lobe Fields at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.
The BlueJackets (3-2), who finished in last place in 2009, are one-half a game behind the Bellingham Bells (3-1) for first place in the West Coast League West Division.
The BlueJackets lost to Bend, 5-4, Wednesday.
Kitsap faces the Wenatchee AppleSox at 6:35 p.m. Friday in the first of five consecutive road games.
The club’s next home game is at 6:35 p.m. June 18, a non-league contest against the Hawks Prairie Cardinals.
