Bremerton High School seniors Carolyn Supit, Matt Olson and Terrick McGhee received $2,000 scholarships from the Chuck Semancik Memorial Foundation, the foundation announced Monday.

Supit was captain of the cheer squad, the vice president of the Associated Student Body and will attend Washington State University in the fall.

Olson was co-captain of the boys soccer team, the Olympic League Most Valuable Player and will attend Saint Martin’s University in Lacey.

McGhee was a member of the boys basketball team, which last season advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 1999, and will play basketball at Highline Community College next year.

“All three have shown their capabilities of being a role model and leader in the classroom, extracurricular programs, the business world and our community,” said Lane Dowell, who started the foundation in 2000.

The foundation also will present two scholarships at the 2010 Semancik Memorial/Bremerton Alumni Golf Tournament in September. For additional information, visit www.semancik.org.
